Olivia spent her childhood and teenage years in South Korea, Gabon, Great Britain, South Africa, and France, following her father, who served as an ambassador.

She earned an MA in Governance and Public Policy, summa cum laude, from the University of Sheffield, before shifting from public affairs to pursue her passion.

Before developing Poppy Bonaparte, Olivia wrote psychological thrillers exploring generational trauma, often laced with dark humor. She co-wrote and starred in the Canal+ thriller Mami Wata, and began her career writing comedy for family audiences.
